What is a good way to get rid of dark spots and dry peeling skin on African American females?

Dark spots can very embarrassing especially if they occur on the arms, face or other visible parts of the body. The main reasons for dark spots are exposure to the harmful ultra-violet rays of the sun and advancing age. In order to treat and prevent dark spots, you can regularly massage the affected areas with Vitamin E oil before you go to bed, so that the oil has 6 to 8 hours to work its magic. Alternately, you can apply the gel of Aloe Vera leaf on the spots. Since the juice of this plant is not sticky you can even apply it during the day. Lemon juice applied to the spots at night and washed off the next morning can help to lighten the spots since lemon acts as natural bleach. Vinegar can also help to reduce spots and improve the tone and texture of your skin, so you can mix 2tsp of vinegar with 1 tsp of onion juice and rub it onto the affected areas. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm or cold water. Alternately, you can apply a mixture of vinegar and orange juice in the same proportion, which is equally effective.

Peeling skin is usually a temporary condition that is nothing more than the body's reaction to the harmful effects of extreme weather. In some cases, however, it can be due to a medical condition or it can even be a reaction to a medication. In rare cases, it is a symptom of a permanent genetic disorder known as Peeling Skin Syndrome. Since the most common cause of peeling skin is prolonged exposure to the sun, it is vital to protect your skin from the sun by using a good sun protection cream with an SPF of at least 15. If you will be stepping out between 11 am and 3 pm, you should wear loose cotton clothing that does not leave your arms and legs exposed. Apply cucumber juice or simply rub grated cucumber on the affected areas to help to greatly control the problem of peeling skin. Cucumber juice helps to moisturize the skin naturally and makes it soft and supple, thus preventing and treating skin problems such as excessive dryness, peeling and spots. In many cases, people who suffer from peeling skin find that their skin is sore and itchy. You can use fresh mint juice daily as this will help to treat the problem effectively as well as soothe your skin. Turmeric is also beneficial for all skin problems, so you can prepare and apply a paste of turmeric powder, sandalwood powder, honey and olive oil. Both turmeric and honey work to prevent infections and improve the health of your skin and the sandalwood will leave your skin lighter and smoother.
