Shampoo to add volume to straight hair without weighing hair down

I have extremely fine hair and I wear it straight. Which shampoo would be best to use that would give it some type of volume but not weigh it down? Thank you!

There are a variety of shampoos in the market which promise to add volume to your hair. You will have to examine all of them before you are able to decide on which shampoo best suits you. In addition to this you can also try some simple home remedies to help your hair look thicker. You will find that with regular oil massage the hair does get thicker. This naturally enough adds volume to the hair. You can use ordinary coconut oil that has been warmed a little, to massage your scalp. You can also make this medicated by adding various natural products to it. For example, you can boil pieces of dried Indian gooseberry in the oil and use this oil to massage your hair. You can also boil pieces dried lemon peel in the oil since this helps hair look healthy and shiny. Try to avoid washing your hair regularly since this causes breakage. You should make a practice of applying various types of packs during the week, to make your hair healthier and thicker. You can mix some henna powder with tea water and leave it overnight in an iron skillet. This can be applied in the morning on the hair and then washed off an hour later. Similarly, you can also boil the powder of dried Indian gooseberry in some water and leave this out overnight. This, when applied regularly on the hair an hour before you bath, can help your hair look shinier and thicker.

Avoid combing out your hair too often since this can cause breakage. Also, you should try and avoid using any treatment on your hair - like perming or straightening since both these use a lot of heat or very strong chemicals which can damage hair and cause hair fall. Ensure that your hair is always covered when you go out so that you can protect it from the elements and from the pollution. You can also make some changes to your diet and switch to healthy food like fruits and vegetables in place of unhealthy food items. Avoid oily food items and drink lots of water. You will find that regularly following these steps will help your hair look thicker and healthier. You can also consider getting your hair cut in a layered style, since this will definitely add volume to your hair. You can also consult a good beautician who will be able to advise you on which style will best suit you. Wearing it straight will only emphasize its fine texture.
