Scars of all types can be removed using some pretty standard methods. However, the success of your methods will always depend upon some basic factors. The first one is the age of your scar. If the scar is relatively new, it will always be easier to get rid and remove boil scars. If it is many years old, or even a few months old, you may face some problems, however. The second factor is the depth of your scar. This means how far into the layers of your skin the scar has actually reached. The deeper the scar, the more difficult it is to reach into and reduce scarring due to boils. If your scar is relatively fresh and also topical, it can be taken care of. But if there is excessive scar tissue that has accumulated due to loss of skin and flesh, it may become difficult to deal with the situation. Before you start trying methods to remove your scar, it is important that you know these simple facts. This will tell you well in advance what degree of success or failure you can expect.

To begin with, you can start using silicone gel. This will get rid of your scars quite effectively and is the fastest non invasive way to remove scars. Since you have stated that you have a scar that was a result of a boil, you can be assured that it would not have penetrated so deep into your skin that it will not be easily removed. Silicone is also available in sheets if you cannot find the gel easily. Another highly effective method is to use aloe vera gel. This product is almost miraculous in its healing and skin lightening properties. If the area around your scar has gone dark, this will take care of it effectively and well. If you can squeeze out the gel from fresh leaves, this will work very well. However, store brought and bottled gel is just as good. Make it a point to rub fresh yogurt on your scars everyday to lighten them. This is also a good way to condition your skin. You can also make a mix of one part hydrogen peroxide to 10 parts of water and apply this to your scars to take care of discoloration. This is a naturally bleaching agent which will lighten the color of skin on the spots where it is used. Keep in mind that these remedies take time.
