There are some simple ways in which you can take care of dandruff and dry hair at home. It will take a month or two, perhaps, before you have shiny and lustrous locks which are also free of the pestilence of dandruff. In order to achieve all of this, you must follow a regular routine of hair care that will help you out a great deal. To begin with, start oiling your hair twice a week. Apply oil to your scalp and strands and leave it in overnight for best results. It would also help more if the oil you applied is warm. In the morning, before washing your hair, you should take half a lime and rub it into your scalp vigorously. This will help to loosen out dandruff that has settled into your head. Leave this on for a while, or till your head starts to itch. This is a sign of the lime juice working. Wash with your regular shampoo. Keep in mind that you must not use an anti dandruff shampoo. These will work only while they are actually in touch with your skin. Once they leave your hair and scalp, they effectively stop working. Instead, it has often been noticed that people who use anti dandruff shampoos regularly tend to develop more dandruff once they stop using the shampoo. Use a regular shampoo that is formulated for dry hair.

You can also condition your hair every time you wash it. In fact, this would be necessary given the fact that you have dry hair. The best natural conditioner to use is whole egg. This can be whipped and applied to your hair after a hair wash. Rinse it thoroughly and make sure that you do not leave any of it behind in your hair. Keep in mind that if you leave it behind in your hair, it will dry up and flake, thus causing your scalp to become flaky. You should also deep condition your hair at least once a month. For this, you can use henna, which is also one of the most effective natural conditioners. Make a pasty mix of henna powder, egg and a few drops of olive oil. Apply this to your scalp and hair and leave it on for about four hours before washing it off. If you follow these methods very regularly for a month or so, you will notice the difference in your hair.
