Sometimes, people develop this particular irritating problem quite easily. There could a few reasons for this. One of the reasons could be that you do not drink enough water. This is one of the commonest problems. What you are suffering from is basically dead skin deposits that get creamy due to constant licking of the lips. Excessively dry and dead skin accumulates on the lips when there is not enough moisture being supplied to them. The first thing you have to do is stop licking your lips. Topically applied saliva will not help you to moisten your lips. If anything, this usually serves another purpose - it will end up drying your lips even further. The second thing you have to do is increase your water intake. This will automatically improve the condition of your lips within a day or two. Commonly, people do not drink too much water, which leads to generally dry skin. You should also make it a rule to stop picking at your lips. This is one way to bring these deposits back manifold. The redness and irritation you are experiencing is also due to dry skin being torn off the lips. Apart from drinking water, you should also make it a point to stop consuming soft drinks. These will only add to your woes.

An old theory dictates that if you apply a drop of mustard oil to your navel and rub it in well, your lips will never dry or crack up, or have any other kind of problems. This is also shown to have a fair amount of success. You can do this every night for best results. In order to take care of removing the white and creamy stuff from your lips, you can also gently exfoliate your lips frequently. For this purpose, rather than using a regular exfoliating agent, you can use a fresh slice of orange. You can also use a fresh slice of seedy cucumbers for the same purpose. The seeds will provide enough friction for the creamy deposits to be removed without any further harm or damage. This will work extremely well and will also cleanse your lips. Do this daily for best results. Immediately after doing this, you should also clean your lips and quickly apply a regular lip balm to them. This will seal in the moisturizing cleansers very well. Try these remedies for at least a week before you expect to see results.
