During pregnancy, the high estrogen level ensures that more hair grows than falls off, and hence the expecting mother's hair grows thick and healthy. But the opposite happens after childbirth. As the estrogen levels in the mother's body drop dramatically the rate of hair fall increases after pregnancy. This is a very common occurrence and is therefore not a cause for major concern. A few simple measures can counter hair loss. Mix almond oil, olive oil and castor oil in equal measures and massage your scalp daily with this solution to increase hair growth and improve hair texture. Crush a few cloves of garlic and apply the juice to your scalp. This increases the flow of blood to the hair cuticles and increases the rate of hair growth when done once every two weeks. Heat some coconut oil till it is warm. Then add to it the juice extracted from two grated cloves of garlic and the oil of four peppercorns. Once this mixture cools down a bit, apply this oil gently on the scalp and the hair. Regular use of this solution makes hair grow faster and thicker. You could also make a paste by adding one teaspoon each of cinnamon powder and honey with olive oil and apply it on the scalp. Wash it off after half an hour with warm water. Done every three days, this reduces hair loss.

The blackheads and pores you have on your face may be the result of stress and exposure to pollution. Blackheads appear when oil and dirt accumulate in the sebaceous duct, which are the natural pores in the skin. In order to prevent blackheads wash your face regularly with lukewarm water. This not only washes the dirt away from the skin but also keeps the sebaceous ducts open. Drink plenty of water every day to keep your skin naturally well moisturized. Applying a paste of sandalwood powder or fuller's earth mixed with rose water prevents blackheads. Orange peel powder mixed with water also serves as an effective face pack. A mixture of tomato juice and lemon juice applied on the face twice a day also helps. Cucumber peel is also a natural moisturizing and cleansing agent that prevents blackheads. A paste of orange peel powder also works on blackheads similarly. Applying a paste of oatmeal and almond in rose water is useful too. Apply grape pulp and then wash it off with lukewarm water to keep your face oil-free.
