Itchy sunburn is best taken care of by applying freshly made buttermilk to it. This will soothe your skin and bring relief from the itching and burning almost at once. You can make your own buttermilk by taking a tablespoon of fresh, unsweetened and unflavored yogurt and whipping it evenly into one whole glass of water. This will be the most effective itchy sunburn remedy you can use for the itching and burning caused by sunburn. If you apply and leave this on your skin till it dries, it will show positive results. Keep on applying it till the itching and burning recedes. Another excellent remedy to take care of itchy sunburn is to apply cooling aloe vera gel to it. Aloe vera gel also has excellent healing properties that will help to heal your sunburn speedily at the same time. If your sunburn is particularly itchy and the skin has cracked open in some places, you can use a remedy to help heal this and cure itchy sunburn. Make a paste of turmeric powder, rose water and a few drops of lime juice to it. This can be applied to your burnt areas as many times as you want. This will take care of the itchiness and will also heal your burn.

If you have dry skin, you can also add milk to this particular mix. Mix is an excellent cleanser and will help to lighten the color of your skin considerably. You can also use fresh milk cream. Although if you try to apply this all over your body, it may turn out to be a rather expensive proposition! Cucumber juice is also a very good thing to use when troubled with itchy sunburn. It will not only cool and soothe your sunburn, it will also help to lighten your skin a lot, thus speeding up the process of getting rid of the sunburn altogether. For immediate relief, you can also try to soak in a bath of cool water to which you have added a few used tea bags. Tea bags also have the property of healing the skin. If you can, try to use herbal tea bags instead of regular ones. Green tea, in particular is well known for its excellent healing properties. You must keep in mind that all these remedies can be used in combination. But the most important thing to know is that they will have to be used frequently for best results.
