The first thing you should do in such a case is to consult with a pediatrician. Do keep in mind that babies can react differently to different things. The bumps on the side of the legs could be some sort of allergic reaction to something that the baby has developed. It could also be absolutely nothing. In any case, it is better that you get this checked out by a doctor. It is always better not to administer self help to children who are that small. You always stand the chance that the problem could actually become worse than it already is. If you do not wish to go to a pediatrician, or cannot go to a doctor, then you can try some simple and uncomplicated home remedies on the baby. These will not have any side effects since most of them are natural remedial measures.

The first thing you can do to treat bumps on the side of legs of your baby is massage the baby's leg with pure olive oil. Olive oil is a superior product to use. It is completely safe and hypoallergenic in nature. It also has some healing properties that will help to heal small itches or little skin problems. In fact, for the general well being and good health of a small child, you must make it a point to give the child a daily massage with olive oil. This will keep the skin healthy and will also penetrate and keep the bones in good shape. In case you are faced with the problem for more than week or two, you can also start trying to apply and leave on yogurt to the child's skin. Yogurt has live and active bacteria which actually feed off any small viral or bacterial surface skin infection of almost all kinds. It is also a completely natural product and has no side effects when used on the skin. In order to take care of any healing that may need to done, you can also add a pinch of turmeric powder to the yogurt. This will only add to healing the problem. You can also make a paste with sandalwood powder and rose water and apply this to the child's skin. This will help with healing, if any is required too. If nothing works out for more than a couple of weeks, you should be prepared to accept the fact that this just may be the way your child's natural skin is made and looks. Sometimes, these little bumps can occur in skin naturally.
