The secret to good and soft skin is regular maintenance. You cannot hope to have soft skin permanently if you do not devote a certain amount of time to taking care of your skin. This program of routine maintenance must also be accompanied by a proper diet. You should be aware that what you eat will always show up directly on your skin. If you can, you should also try and get in about half an hour of exercise. This will probably be the best remedial measure for your skin. To start with, you should make it a rule to follow a nightly pre bedtime regimen. Wash your face with regular tap water and a soap free cleanser, and then apply a grease free moisturizer which is specifically formulated to suit your skin. You can try a few products before you settle on any one. This regimen should also be followed in the morning. This kind of cleansing and moisturization will even out your skin tone and keep it well nourished. Make it a point to not use soap, as this will make your skin rougher over a period of time. About once a month, you should try and get a facial. This will make a dramatic difference to your skin. The massage with creams that are suited to your skin will help to improve circulation and will add a healthy glow to your face. You should try and get a fruit massage, from a professional. On a weekly basis, you should use a simple exfoliating scrub. This will help by regularly removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.

You should also try and stay away from eating greasy and excessively oily food. This is also a cause for skin that is troubled with random attacks of acne and other such recurrent problems. Add a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables to your diet. These will always contribute towards keeping the skin healthier. Avoid processed food that contains chemicals that will always tend to show up on your skin in an uncomplimentary way. You should also add lots of water to your diet. This is also an excellent way to improve the texture and appearance of your skin. In addition, if you also exercise, your skin will look healthy and remain free of wrinkles and blemishes. Exercise will make you perspire, which will open up your pores and make your skin breathe better.
