Wrinkles around the eyes can be of two type - those that appear beside the eyes, commonly termed as crow's feet; and wrinkles that appear below the eyes, known as under-eye wrinkles. Wrinkles appear when the collagen and elastin proteins present in the connective tissues of the skin become weaker or disappears. As a result there is a creased and sagging look to the skin. Wrinkles can appear due to various reasons. Growing age is the primary cause of getting wrinkles. Pollution, stress, smoking, weight loss, deficiency of Vitamin E, and prolonged exposure to sun's rays can also cause wrinkles around eyes. It might not be possible to completely erase all the wrinkles that appear around your eyes simply because the skin around the eyes are most delicate and our facial expressions are bound to cause some creases or folds to this skin. However, what is important is that you should take preventive action to remove any permanent and deep wrinkles that may start appearing around the eyes. Always apply a good moisturizer to avoid dryness of the skin around your eyes as dry skin is more prone to getting wrinkles. Also, use sunglasses to protect your eyes from direct sunlight whenever you step out.

There are a few home remedies that helps get rid of crow's feet and under-eye wrinkles. Rub coconut oil on the wrinkled skin each night before going to sleep. This will help keep your skin throughout the night and reduce the chances of getting wrinkles. You can also try massaging your skin with a mixture of honey, olive oil, and cream. Chickpea and almonds are also good for skin. Soak chickpea and almond in water overnight and then make a paste of them. Apply them around the eyes and wash it away after some time. Egg yolk is also considered beneficial. You can apply egg yolk about once a week. Leave it for about 10 minutes after applying and then wash your face with water. Another popular home remedy is potato. Make slices of potato and rub it on affected area twice a day. It is also important to follow a proper diet to contain wrinkles.

Eat a balanced diet of fruit, nuts, vegetables, and legumes. Keep away from cigarettes and caffeine as they accelerate ageing of skin. Drink plenty of fluids to keep your skin sufficiently hydrated. Intake of fluids also helps to flush out toxins from our bodies and gives our skin a fresh and healthy look.
