Who doesn't want shiny and silky hair? Everybody desires a healthy, luxurious mane but not everybody is blessed with such hair. Our hair is a natural extension of our skin and like the skin, the kind of hair we have is decided by genetic factors. However, external factors such as an inadequate intake of the essential nutrients to nourish the hair, insufficient consumption of water, excessive stress and lack of proper rest and exposure of the hair to the harmful effects of the sun, wind, heat and pollution can adversely affect the hair. Apart from a healthy diet and a balanced lifestyle, it is also important to take good care of your hair by sticking to a regular routine of oiling, shampooing and conditioning your hair.

In order to improve the quality of your hair so that it shines with natural health, you should start by regularly massaging your scalp with some warm coconut oil. Alternately you can use almond oil, jojoba oil or even virgin olive oil. After massaging your scalp properly using your finger tips to improve the circulation of blood in your scalp and thus strengthen the roots of your hair, you should cover your hair with a shower cap and wash your hair after around an hour. Apart from regular oil massages, you can also apply a hair mask on your hair before you wash it. This helps to naturally moisturize and condition your hair, leaving them soft and silky. You can prepare this hair mask by the yolks of 2 eggs with 1 cup warm water and 1 tbsp of olive oil. Mix the ingredients together properly and apply it on your hair using a brush and covering the strands completely from the roots to the ends. Once you have applied this mask on your hair you can cover your hair with a shower cap and wash it off using a mild shampoo after around half an hour. You can also use a mixture of ΒΌ cup each of castor oil and water to rinse out your hair. Rinsing your hair with some diluted vinegar after you have shampooed it is excellent for obtaining a mane of shiny silky hair. Apart from diluted vinegar, you can also use diluted lemon juice or some black tea as a last rinse to obtain a mane of soft and shiny hair. Vitamin E is excellent for the hair, so you should try and increase your intake of Vitamin E through your diet, or open a capsule of Vitamin E and mix it with your hair oil before you massage your scalp. In addition to these simple measures, you should also take some precautionary measure to protect your hair. You should always cover your hair with a bandana or a wide-brimmed hat before you step out, in order to protect it from the harmful effects of the sun, wind and pollution.
