Alternative Treatment for Hair
If you are facing the problem of hair fall with use of coconut oil, the best thing to do is to stop using it. It is possible that the excess viscosity of the coconut oil is smothering your hair roots and encouraging hair fall. You can opt for oil that is less viscous in nature, such as olive oil or lavender oil, which will work well to condition your hair. You must also try not to use oil more than twice a week. Please remember that any hair oil takes about a couple of hours to work on your scalp, after which, it just sits there. It is not necessary for you to have your head constantly soaked in oil for your hair to be healthy. So washing oil after a two hour application is good enough.
If you have the problem of dandruff, there are other remedies you can use to get rid of it. Add a few drops of tea tree oil to the shampoo you use regularly. This is the most effective measure in getting rid of dandruff in as little as a week. Make it a point to massage your scalp with half a lime every time you have applied oil in your hair to dislodge dandruff. You can leave it on for 15 minutes and then shampoo your hair as usual. A solution of whipped yogurt with a few drops of lime added to it will also work effectively. This is an excellent hair and scalp wrap, and can be left in your hair for about 20 minutes.
