There are various products available in the kitchen which can assist you quite easily in encouraging good hair growth. They will also help to make your hair thicker and more luxurious. You can start with increasing your intake of certain food products that will help to make your hair, skin and nails healthier and shinier. This would indicate most sources of vitamin A. Therefore, all yellow colored fruits and vegetables such as carrots, peaches, papayas, butternut squash and melons should be added to your diet. In particular, carrots are good for hair growth. You can also increase your intake of green leafy vegetables such as collard greens, spinach and kale. These will also encourage healthier hair. Increasing meat consumption, particularly, innards such as kidney and liver are particularly good for getting excellent hair. You can also make a very effective hair conditioner each time you feel the need to condition your hair. Take a whole egg and add two tablespoons of fresh and unflavored yogurt to it. Whip and apply to your hair strands. Wash after about 45 minutes to an hour. Eggs are considered to be very rich in protein, which is essential for encouraging hair growth. This concoction will also add a healthy shine to your hair quite effortlessly.
You can also make a healthy hair pack and apply it to your hair about once in two months or so. Mix together four tablespoons of henna powder, two tablespoons of fresh and unflavored yogurt, once tablespoon of olive oil and a few drops of lime juice. Apply this to your hair strands very systematically and leave it on for about four hours. Henna is one of the best natural conditioners for hair. However, do bear in mind that this may also tinge your hair red. If you want to avoid the color, omit lime juice. You can also pick from black, brown or red shades of henna that are available in the market. You can also apply hair oil to your scalp and strands every week for healthier and well nourished hair. For normal hair, you can use olive or coconut oil, leave it in for a few hours, then wash. You can also apply castor oil to your scalp, but do not use this on your strands, since it is so viscous that if you try to rub it into your scalp or strands, it may break them. Wash castor oil about two hours after application.
