The skin condition you have described sounds severe enough for you to worry about it. But no remedial measure can be recommended to you without you first getting a medical examination. This is simply because you could very well be suffering from a gamut of problems starting from dry and flaky skin to psoriasis or any other complicated skin ailment. The best thing for you to do is to get a medical examination by a qualified dermatologist. It is always advisable to eliminate anything serious right at the onset. In case you have a skin disorder, it is better to treat it early rather than let it linger and grow to large proportions. In case you have been to a doctor and eliminated any serious problem, then you can assume that this could be a case of extreme dry skin and begin treating it likewise. Keep in mind that this is not uncommon for extremely dry skin to reach these mammoth proportions. In case you want to take permanent measures so as to not suffer from this problem again, you can start with deep moisturizing your skin regularly. The best product for you to use for this purpose is extra virgin olive oil. However, if you are averse to using oil, you can use any cold cream. Even plain petroleum jelly will work very well for you.

Try to follow a daily routine of moisturization. Keep your olive oil at hand in the bathroom so that you can apply it as soon as you are done with your bath. This is the best time to apply any product directly to skin and it works most effectively as well. Olive oil applied twice a day will keep your skin well lubricated and moist. You must also get a fruit based facial to take care of flaking on a permanent basis. Try to do this every week to begin with. Slowly, you can switch to doing it once a month. But make this move only after your skin has stabilized. Use fresh milk cream in your face pack for best results. This will not only moisturize and cleanse, but it will also act to seal moisture deep within your skin. Applying cream on particularly dry spots will also work well. You can also soak almonds overnight, peel and crush them in the morning and apply this to your dry spots. Almonds are oil rich and will keep your skin drenched.
