White spots on the back

My teenage daughter has a lot of white spots for about 2 years on her back, as years past they are spreading on her stomach and her skin dries only on the spots. Is this normal for her age and is there a cure for this?

The condition you have described that is white spots on the back spreading on to the stomach is absolutely not a normal one. It is possible that your daughter is suffering from dry skin to an extreme. However, it is advisable for you to get this checked out by a doctor before we can assume anything at all. Some cases of leukoderma may also have this particular symptom you have described. This is not common, as leukoderma patches do not have a tendency to dry up topically. But nevertheless, it is better to get it checked out and eliminated first. This is particularly important since you are saying that this condition has been prevalent for a good two years. If indeed your daughter is not suffering from anything more dire than extremely dry skin, then there are some simple measures you can adopt at home to take care of this. To start with, you must improve her diet significantly. Add fresh fruits, vegetables and plenty of dairy to her diet. This will automatically lead to healthier and better skin. Focus on eating more of snake gourd and cabbage. You can eat these in raw or cooked forms, but both these products are helpful in maintaining healthy skin.

Apart from a good diet, it is also important that your daughter maintain a proper regiment of skin care. This is what will help her the most. In order to maintain proper skin, it is important to spend some time and effort to keep it looking healthy and good. See if your daughter can get a daily massage for about a month. This will improve her condition. You can use a mix of equal parts of mustard and olive oil for this purpose. Both of them have exceptional healing as well as therapeutic properties that will help her. Applying a paste made of a mixture made of cabbage leaves, beetroot and sandalwood will help to remove extremely dry and discolored skin. Try to see if you can do this everyday fro about a month at least. You can also dab a mixture made of fresh milk cream and saffron. Bury a few strands of saffron in a tablespoon of fresh milk cream and let this mixture steep overnight. Rub with your finger and apply this to the spots the next morning. You will notice a change in the color of the skin in about a week or two. Just remember that you have to follow these remedies for a while before you can see positive changes.
