The problem you are detailing sounds like a case of allergies. If your husband is allergic to something, you should try and figure out what it is. It is inadvisable to become addicted to a substance like Benadryl in order to take care of a rash. It is entirely possible that the rash is causes due to another allergic reaction that needs a different kind of cure. Remember that if any rash starts as soon as the medication stops, then the medicine is not actually working to cure the rash. It is merely suppressing the reasons for the rashes while it is in your body. This is an improper way to administer treatment. The preferred treatment method for you can be decided if you get a medical examination and figure out what is causing the rash. Only then can proper medication be dispensed, one that will work effectively and well. On the other hand, there are some simple and easy remedial measures you can try at home to see if they work to take care of your rash. Keep in mind that even if these methods do not work, they will at least not harm you in any way.

One of the most effective cure alls is aloe vera gel. This will always work towards healing any part of skin that is damaged or hurting in any way. If you can find a plant, you can squeeze out the gel from the leaves and apply this directly to your rash. This will help to cool it down and prevent the itching as well. You can also apply yogurt to the rash. This will also help to cool it down as well as provide relief from the itching. While bathing, if your husband can soak in a tub of water to which a cup of rose water has been added, this will work wonders at soothing his skin. Alternately, you can also add a cup of apple cider vinegar. However, if the itchiness increases with vinegar, then you must wash it off at once. Applying a paste made of clarified butter and turmeric powder will also help to heal the rash. You can also make it a point to drink a glass of hot milk to which a teaspoon of turmeric powder has been added. It is preferable to do this before bedtime, so that the turmeric gets a chance to heal your from within uninterrupted.
