In order to take care of a problem like the one you have described, the first thing you need to do is get a medical opinion. It is unwise to try any treatment at home or by yourself until such time as you have an accurate diagnosis. You may discover after a while that what you have is not what you are treating yourself for. This will simply make the treatment counter productive. It is advisable to go to a dermatologist, a skin specialist, who will be able to tell you what the problem is exactly. In all probability, it sounds like you have a patch of extremely dry skin. These kinds of patches are also sometimes manifested as a part of eczema, or the problem of excessively dry skin. If indeed you are suffering from eczema, then you can easily take some measures at home to get rid of it. But keep in mind that if your doctor recommends some medication, you must also have that in tandem with any home remedies you may use. This will help you to get rid of the eczema disease faster and more effectively.

Since eczema stems from the problem of excessively dry and very sensitive skin, you would need to go about ensuring that your skin is getting all the proper nourishment it needs to begin with. This would indicate that you must try and keep your skin as deeply hydrated as possible. The best thing to use for this purpose without a doubt is mustard oil. Since you only have a patch, you can easily dab on some mustard oil on it and leave it there. Although this may have a rather strong smell, keep in mind that the smell will dissipate over some time. The medicinal and healing effects of mustard oil are the strongest. You can also make it a point to do this about four to five times a day for best results. for dryness as well as a topical infection of some sort, you can also mash an over ripe banana with a bit of milk cream and a few drops of lime juice and apply this to your patch. This will also help to heal the patch very quickly. As will applying fresh yogurt to it. If you have some sort of a fungal infection, you can apply diluted tea tree oil to it. This will help to kill the surface fungus and will also penetrate deep into your skin to heal it.
