Natural treatment for dry hair

If you have the problem of dry hair along with excessive hair loss, you will need to work towards first taking care of the dry hair and slowly, the hair loss will stop on its own. In all likelihood, the hair fall is due to the extreme dryness in the first place. The first thing you should do is stop using hair dryers and fine tooth combs. Both of these will contribute to dryness and hair loss respectively. Just stopping the use of both will take care of almost half your problem at one go. You must then follow up with a basic maintenance program for dryness.

On a weekly basis, you can apply a hair pack made of a whole whipped egg with two tablespoons of olive oil added to it. Leave this in your hair for an hour and wash with a mild shampoo. This will moisturize as well as condition your hair. Dry hair can be conditioned well by applying hair oil to your hair and scalp at least thrice a week. Apply olive, lavender, almond or coconut oil, leave it on overnight and wash it off the next morning. This will work towards softening and adding health and vitality to your hair. Once the general health of your hair improves, it will stop falling by itself.

Natural Remedy for Dry Hair

Dry hair is probably because you are not using the right shampoo for your hair type, or you are shampooing your hair too often, thus removing all the natural oils that are produced by your scalp. The scalp contains sebaceous glands like the rest of the skin, and these glands produce an oily substance known as sebum. Hair itself does not contain any oil or sebum, but the sebum from the scalp usually coats the hair, giving it its glossy and sometimes oily look. It is unlikely that your scalp is not producing enough sebum, but it is possible that the sebum is somehow not properly coating your hair. Try combing your hair more often so that the sebum spreads from your scalp to your hair. Do this gently and slowly, with strokes beginning at your scalp and extending all the way to the tips of your hair. If you feel it is necessary, you can also oil your hair a couple of times a week and also use a conditioner. You can apply oil one hour before you wash your hair, and apply the conditioner for at least 5 minutes after you have washed off the shampoo.

This should also take care of your hair loss problem, but in addition, make sure that your diet is giving you all the necessary nutrients and that you are getting enough water and sleep.
