In order to get glowing healthy skin you should be willing to follow a strict regime of not only skin care but also diet. Use good quality soap or face wash that will clean your skin without removing the natural oils and making it dry. Protect the delicate skin of your face and neck by carrying an umbrella or a hat whenever you go out. Moisturizing your face is essential, especially if you suffer from dry skin. For this you can mix three fourth cup of rose water with one-fourth cup of glycerin, one-fourth teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of vinegar. This home made moisturizer not only cleanses your skin but also keeps it moisturized. You can make a smooth paste of two teaspoons of gram powder, a pinch of turmeric and a few drops of milk and apply this every morning on your face and neck. This keeps your face looking soft and fresh. Use milk cream mixed with some turmeric if your skin is very dry. This is a wonderful way to moisturize your skin. You can mash a ripe banana, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil and apply this on your face for twenty minutes. A ripe tomato also works very well at moisturizing your skin and can simply be pureed and applied. Cucumber juice and the juice of raw potato can be mixed together in equal quantities and applied on your face and neck with a clean cotton swab.

Your diet too determines the quality of your skin and for this reason you should ensure that you eat a healthy, well-balanced diet. Ensure that your daily intake of food contains plenty of fruits and vegetables. Eating oily food may cause an eruption of pimples and for this reason this kind of food should be avoided. Eat food that has been cooked in a very small quantity of oil and is not very spicy. Between your meals you can sip water. Sipping warm water helps your digestion and this in turn keeps your skin glowing. Avoid eating food that contains white flour, cheese and sugar. Sweets should be eaten in moderation and smoking and alcohol should be completely avoided. Physical exercise ensures that you stay healthy and greatly helps in improving the quality of your skin. Adequate sleep too is essential to ensure that you don't have dark circles around your eyes and your skin looks good. You should avoid stress since this can play havoc with your body and cause your skin to lose its luster.
