If you are suffering from bumps on and around the lips, the first thing you need to know is why they have appeared. It is better that you consult your regular family physician and get a diagnosis. Sometimes, the bumps could have come up due to extremely dry skin. If this is the case, then you need to start working on improving the situation at once. In order to do this, you should first make it a regular routine to start applying lip balm or chap stick to your lips 24 hours. This is one of the quickest and best ways to remedy the problem of dry lips. However, if this does not work, then you can take it one step further. Take a tablespoon of clarified butter (ghee) and add a teaspoon of turmeric powder to it. Make sure the clarified butter is warm. Make a paste of this and smear your lips with it. This should preferably be left on your lips for at least a whole day and it should also be periodically applied repeatedly. Both these substances have very good healing properties and will help to take care of dryness very quickly and efficiently.

However, in some cases, this could also have occurred due to extreme heat. Sometimes known as heat boils, these have a tendency to come up quite regularly if you have eaten particularly spicy food. It could also be due to hot weather. And if it is a combination of spicy food and hot weather, then these boils will also be particularly difficult to get rid of. You need to apply cooling substances on it. Start with clarified butter. This is usually the best way to beat all sorts of unexplained boils and bumps. Try for a couple of days, and if this does not work, then switch to fresh and unflavored yogurt. This will help to cool down the skin. Yogurt is also effective in treating any bacteria that may be present in the affected area. They should subside within a couple of days at best. You can also make a paste of Fuller's Earth and rose water and apply this to your boils. This is a very cooling pack to apply and will always help with soothing inflamed skin and reducing any inflammation and pain. You should also try to cut back on spicy food for some time. If these bumps are caused due to spicy food, then they will vanish once you do that.
