Rash on any part of the body is a medical condition in which there is an inflammation of the skin which leads to a change in the texture and color of skin in the affected area. The most common reasons for rash are allergies to certain chemicals in the hygiene or cosmetic products or those present in elastic, rubber and latex products used by you. Sometimes it is also caused by food products consumed or simply by being in contact with a material or substance that does not agree with your skin. Apart from this, there are many medical conditions such as dry skin, heat rash, measles, dermatitis etc that lead to rash. In this case, the rash is not a condition by itself, but a symptom and thus it is the underlying condition that should be treated.

There are many simple home remedies that can be used to treat all kinds of body rashes, including those affecting the foot like Athlete's foot and other related conditions. Many of these skin problems are caused by bacteria or fungi. These infections generally occur when a person wears closed shoes for extended periods of time. Excess moisture from sweat coupled with body warmth allows the microbes to thrive and leads to an infection. A lack of common hygiene practices can also lead to the growth of tinea versicolor fungus in that region; this can lead to a rash between the toes or on the soles of the feet. In order to treat and prevent rash on the feet, you should observe strict hygiene. Wash your feet properly every time you have been to the gym or used a public shower, dressing room or swimming pool as these are all areas where fungus thrives. You should also ensure that your feet are completely dry before you slip them into your shoes. Take care to always wear clean socks, especially if you sweat a lot in your feet. Before wearing your socks, you can dust your feet lightly with some anti-fungal powder to absorb the sweat and inhibit growth of fungus. Try and wear sandals whenever possible to allow your feet to breathe. In addition to these simple measures, you can soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes in a tub of warm water with a few drops of essential tea-tree oil and then carefully dry your feet. Alternately you can apply tea-tree oil on the affected areas. Apart from tea-tree oil, Vitamin E oil and even the pulp of Aloe Vera are beneficial for treating rash. Another way to combat fungal rash is by slipping a clove of garlic between your toes when you wear your shoes. If you find this uncomfortable you can simply leave a clove of garlic in your shoes when you keep them for airing. This helps to kill existing fungus and inhibits fungal growth.
