Natural Cure for Scratches and Bruises on Legs
Black marks in some cases can be cured with the natural or home remedies as well. Rubbing the black marks with a piece of lemon is one such traditional remedy. This should be done after a bath and the lemon juice should be allowed to remain on the skin for 15 minutes. In the same way, using cucumber and potato pieces or curds can also be helpful. The natural remedies are free from any side effects ands they are cheap as well. Therefore, you can always try them first and if they do not work then you can consult a dermatologist, you can formulate an effective regime to remove black marks.
Among the artificial treatments, you can try creams that are available for removing different types of marks on skin.
The above methods are useful only in some cases. If the black mark is not cured with these, you can opt for the topical treatments as chemical peels, pressure garments, etc. these cannot be practiced at home, you will need to consult a dermatologist.
If they too, are not useful, the treatments as steroid injections, collagen injections, dermabrasion, radiotherapy, laser surgery, and plastic surgery are recommended. These can be a bit costly however; they are successful most of the times. You can even opt for laser scar removal techniques as well.

You can try some simple measures to lighten your scars, but you should also know that these may or may not work. You can simply rub half a lime over the marks everyday and leave it on for an hour before washing. This will help to lighten your marks and bruises slowly but steadily. Lime is one of the best natural bleaches available and it can take care of unusually dark marks as well. Do remember that you must apply a thin layer of sunscreen to your scars after you have applied lime juice as this will help not to burn your skin.
Silicone is another product that is known to lighten and smooth old scars. It is available at select locations, so you may have trouble finding it. But it is an excellent method to flatten uneven skin as well as lighten scars, and will require prolonged usage before it shows results. Grate a fresh potato and squeeze out the juice. Mix this with the juice of one onion and apply this cocktail to your scars. They will lighten considerably. Another remedy you can sue is to apply aloe vera gel. This is also known to smooth out your skin over a period of time. Another effective remedy to smoothen your skin is a paste of sandalwood and rose water, which will also help to fade scars while smoothing the texture of your skin.

If there are scars on your legs that have lasted from childhood till adulthood, it is unlikely that anything you do will get rid of them. Scars are extremely difficult to get rid of, and some scars never go away. As time passes, scars do become lighter and some eventually fade away almost completely, leaving a barely noticeable mark, but some scars last for life and this is something that we just need to accept. There are options such as medical treatment and surgery, but these are usually unnecessary and inadvisable except for cases of severe scarring. Your scars, although persistent, seem rather minor, and are on your legs. Surgery and treatment are needed only for scars that are more severe and in more obvious locations, such as the face.
There are some home remedies that sometimes help, but do not expect too much from them, especially since your scars have already lasted for so long. Rose hip seed oil is supposed to be very useful for treating scars, and lemon juice is also supposed to help. You can try these remedies, but if they do not work, you should stop worrying about your scars since you have already lived most of your life with them.
