Natural treatment for gray hair

If you are graying and over 35 years of age, keep in mind that this is a natural phenomenon and will follow its own path. While you can follow some remedies to try and slow down the process of graying, it will not be easy to reverse this process, and you will certainly not be able to stop it altogether.

One of the easiest ways to deal with unwanted graying is to keep your hair richly conditioned at all times. This will reduce graying to a large extent, since it is believed that dryness of the scalp and hair lead to excessive graying. After the age of 35, the body begins to slow down its production of its natural supply of hair dye, which is known as melanin. There are very few sources of melanin available freely in food, so you can try to change your diet to include them. Sea food and almost all nuts contain melanin in some quantity, and can be had freely. Sufficient quantities of vitamin A will also ensure that your hair is generally healthy. This would include all yellow and orange fruits and vegetables. You can also apply olive or almond oil to your hair to keep it well combed. This way, the coarser strands of lighter hair will not stand out excessively.

Alternative Treatment for Gray Hair

Gray hair is usually associated with ageing and is a natural part of this process. You usually begin to develop grey hair once you are past the age of 45 or so but this age is depends on your genetic make up. You have not mentioned your age but if you are around the age of 35 and have begun to develop grey hair then you are graying prematurely. Hair begins to grey because of a loss of pigmentation in the hair bulb. Each strand loses color at a different pace and hence, graying is a gradual process which usually begins at the temples. The most common causes of premature graying are a very high intake of tea or coffee, spicy foods, or a lack of essential minerals such as copper.

You cannot stop your hair from graying, especially with advancing age, but there are a number of things that you can do control grey hair. You should ensure that your diet is full of essential nutrients and that you avoid foods that might stop the melanin production in your hair. Eat large quantities of vitamin B because this keeps the hair healthy and helps prevent graying. Mix some lemon with coconut oil and massage your scalp with this because this helps to slow down the graying process. Make a tea of rosemary and sage and apply it on your hair. Allow the tea to remain on your hair for ten minutes and then wash it off.
