Natural Cures for Freckles

Freckles can be lightened considerably at home with the help of a few simple measures. Lime juice is known to be the most effective way to lighten freckles. Apply and leave it on for a few minutes and wash off with plain water. You must also make it a point to never go out of the house without applying sunscreen lotion to your face and arms, the areas where freckles tend to gather the most. This is the best way to stop them from darkening further. You can also do a quick clean up on your face with a fruit mask. Crushed strawberries, papayas, pineapples and cucumber will help considerably in lightening your freckles. Simply apply a thick layer of the crushed fruit generously to your freckled areas and they will lighten.

Milk is an excellent product to use to reduce freckles. Especially if it is sour, milk will work very effectively in lightening the discoloration. If you can add a few drops of lime juice to sour milk, this will also work very well. Generally, all sour products found in nature are helpful in getting rid of freckles. Try to make it a point not to go out in the sun between 10 am and 3 pm, as this is the time when the sun is at its strongest and sunlight will hit your freckles harder.

Freckles home cures

Freckles appear on sun-exposed skin, especially on the nose and arms. The best method to combat freckles is to make sure that you use a sunscreen every time you leave your house. Make sure that your sunscreen has a high SPF and has both UVA and UVB filters.

There are various treatments available today. Pulsed Light therapy, liquid nitrogen, and laser therapy are some of the more drastic measures for people with extensive freckling. Topical bleaching creams, dermabrasion and chemical peels are some of the cosmetic options if you have a relatively mild case. If you are using a bleaching cream make sure that you use a product that contains less than 2% hydroquinone as anything more than that can cause severe irritation.

Before you start any cosmetic treatments, I suggest that you try a couple of natural remedies. These remedies take longer to show significant effects but they are less invasive. You can apply a thin layer of sour cream or sour milk to the effected area daily. Lactic acid in the milk helps to gently slough off the upper layer of your skin without causing any irritation or swelling. You can also apply lemon juice along with a few drops of cucumber juice to your freckles. Do not rub your skin with lemon as this will only aggravate your skin and possibly cause further marks.
