Moisturizing cleanser and exfoliation for removing dark skin spots

I’m 22yrs old. My skin was exposed to sun when I worked in field. That might be the reason lots of dots or pigment on nose and now reaching to cheeks. What should I do?

You should consult a skin specialist for a proper diagnosis of your skin problem. It is not exactly clear what the dark spots on your face are, therefore it would be difficult to be sure about this without actually examining your skin. Dark spots on the skin could certainly be the result of sun damage, but they could also have completely unrelated causes. If you have pimples even occasionally, they could leave you with spots of hyperpigmentation. This is nothing to worry about, as these spots will gradually fade away on their own. However, you would need to address the pimple problem too, or the spots will continue to appear. Alternately the dark spots could also be blackheads, which are a form of acne themselves. Blackheads are basically blocked pores that have accumulated sebum, which then gets oxidized and turns black. Blackheads are usually quite tiny, and are quite likely to be what you are seeing, since you have described your problem as "dots".

Treating any acne related problem can be quite difficult, but if you are diligent and regular with treatment and skin care, it should be possible to reduce its occurrence and effects. Daily washing is essential - although acne is not caused by dirt, regular washing can help wipe of the excess oil and dead skin cells that are likely to block pores and cause acne. However, washing is only marginally effective - exfoliation is usually needed, and in some cases, a special anti acne cream may be needed. You can first try exfoliating your skin a couple of times a week, using either a commercial face scrub or a home made mix of honey, rice flour, and turmeric powder. However, you should certainly avoid using commercial scrubs that contain plastic micro beads. In addition, regular use of a moisturizing cleanser will help.

Finally if the spots/dots have in fact been caused by exposure to sunlight, then one of the only solutions that will help is reducing your direct exposure to the sun. Exposure to sunlight for a long duration, over an extended period of time can damage the skin, thus affecting melanin production. Instead of producing melanin evenly, resulting in a tan, the skin may produce melanin unevenly, resulting in spots, such as those seen in people with freckles and sun spots. If exposure to the sun is discontinued, melanin production will return to normal levels, and your skin will gradually return to its normal color.
