Alternative Treatment for Dry Skin

The dry skin lack moisture and therefore it is sensitive to soap or hot water. Therefore, you are developing the white patches on the face after a bath.

Therefore, for preventing these patches from developing use a very mild soap. There are special soaps available in the market for such skin. You can use them.

Moreover, it is generally advised that people with such skin should not wash their face with the tap water. Instead, they are told to use mineral water. In addition, hot water should never be used, instead use only luke warm water. You should better use cold water however, during winters you can warm it to some extent.

The permanent solution to this problem is improving the texture of your skin and making it healthy and moist. This can be done by providing the right nutrition to it through diet. Massage and exercise, which can improve the blood circulation to the skin, can be beneficial as well.

You can also benefit from the skin care products available for dry skin. Always apply moisturizer. It will keep the moisture content of your skin balanced. The different oils, creams and preparations are also available for nourishing dry skin and thus improving its health.

Natural Cures for Dry Skin

Dry skin is the result of your body lacking sufficient moisture to keep skin well lubricated. If you develop white patches on your face after a bath, then your face is excessively dry. The first thing you must do is increase your water intake and hike it to about 10 to 12 litres a day. This will make a noticeable difference to the quality and texture of your skin. You must also make it a point to spend time outdoors and get away from air conditioning and heaters to help your skin breathe better.

You must also make it a point to inculcate a daily routine of moisturizing after a warm bath. The best moisturizer to use is olive oil, which is therapeutic in healing dry skin as well. Apply the oil immediately as you are out from a warm bath. This will also seal the moisture from your bath within. You must also exfoliate on a weekly basis. This will help you to slough off the dead dry skin cells. Mix sugar crystals and olive oil into a pasty cream and rub it in circular motions all over your body till the sugar melts. Bathe with warm water and a mild soap. You can also apply a mashed overripe banana mixed with milk cream to the white patches on your face. Once a month, try to take a milk bath. Add a gallon of whole milk to a tub of warm water, and soak in this for about 20 minutes. This is an excellent way to moisturize your skin.

Dry skin remedies

Since you have not mentioned the nature of these patches (if they are scaly or rough), it would not be possible (or practical) for me to be sure as to exactly what you have. However, in all probability you have a very common fungal infection called tinea versicolor. This is a superficial infection that can be treated with a topical antifungal cream. You could also use a shampoo containing Selenium to get rid of the fungus. On coming in contact with it, Selenium kills the fungus and so you would need to apply a thin layer of the shampoo to the affected portion and leave it on for at least one hour daily.  If you do not have sensitive skin, you could also leave it on overnight for faster results. Make sure that you wash your face thoroughly the next morning. This infection will keep recurring until you treat it and get rid of it completely.

There are a number of other skin problems that could account for the white patches. Eczema or Psoriasis are two of the other possibilities. You could try using a topical broad spectrum anti-bacterial and antifungal cream. If your problem does not disappear completely within two weeks of treatment, please visit a dermatologist.
