Alternative Treatment for Sun Tan

There are many options for treating suntanned skin. You can use artificial as well as simple home remedies. However, note that in many cases the suntanned skin itself becomes like before after sometime.

The artificial creams as fairness creams, skin bleaches, etc, are effective. Moreover, as they are cheap as well, they are very popular. However, there are some good home remedies as well. They cause no side effects and they hardly cost anything. Some of them are given below. In the milder cases, rubbing the skin with peeled potato is a very good method. The potato should be rubbed only on the affected areas. Alternatively, you can even use the raw juice of a potato.

If your skin has become severely tanned, you can use a mixture of sugar, glycerin, and lemon juice. Scrub this mixture directly on the affected areas. While applying this mixture massage the skin gently.

A mixture of 1 teaspoon of potato juice and lemon juice can be applied on the affected areas. This as well will help get rid of tan for sure. Remove skin of a cucumber and then immerse it in a liquidizer. To this, add 1 tablespoon chilled milk. Mix this thoroughly and then you can apply it on the tanned areas.

Natural treatment for tan skin

Sun tanning can be quite a problem, especially during summer. Make sure that you use a good sunscreen lotion before you step outside. Choose a sunscreen that has a high SPF as well as UVA and UVB filters.

To get rid of tan marks, make a facial scrub out of lemon juice, sugar and two drops of glycerin. Scrub your face gently but thoroughly with this scrub for at least a couple of minutes before washing it off with warm water. This scrub will help you to get rid of your tan as well as keep your skin soft and supple.

You can use a homemade face pack made out of Fuller's earth and potato juice. Potatoes contain Vitamin C that helps to lighten a tan as well as eliminate blemishes. After using a face pack you can finish off by using a nourishing face mask made out of boiled cabbage. Chop a couple of cabbage leaves and boil it lightly. Mash the leaves and apply the pulp in an even layer over your entire face. Cabbage has been found to be extremely effective in treating a sun tan.

You can apply apple cider vinegar as a toner or you can leave it in overnight. Vinegar is a mild acid and helps to slough off the upper layer of your skin without causing any irritation or swelling.

Home Remedies for Fair Skin

There are some basic remedial measures you can employ to help you deal with sun tans. One of the oldest and most effective remedies is to make a pasty mix of milk and sour cream and rub this all over the tanned area. Leave this on for about an hour or two and then wash it off. This is an excellent quick bleaching system that will clear out your tan in a couple of days. In order to maintain tan free skin, it is important to remember to always apply sunscreen before leaving the house. If you make this a habit, chances are you will find yourself suffering less.

Aloe vera gel is another magical cure for getting rid of sun tans. It is known to lighten your skin in a matter of mere days if used regularly. For excessively tanned skin, make a body pack of equal quantities of milk cream, lime juice and olive oil. Using this for about a week or two will heal your sunburn as well as lighten your tan. Alternately, you can also make a body soothing pack of powdered oatmeal, yogurt and a few drops of tomato juice. This can be thickly applied and left on till it begins to cake on the skin, after which it has to be washed off with cool water. This is considered a medicinal remedy to take care of severe tans. It will lighten the skin as well as heal the sunburn.
