For open pore treatment and in order to get rid of large pores, it is a good idea to understand how the problem of pores actually occurs. The skin has natural pores which are small and are in fact microscopic in nature. They are held closely by the natural elasticity of skin. With men, shaving is a process that tends to toughen the hair that is coming out of the pores of the skin. The tougher and thicker the hair becomes, the more the pores open up and become larger. Since the everyday process of shaving does not allow for the hair to become softer or thinner, the pores tend to remain open so much, that after a while they simply become larger, and lose a lot of their natural elasticity. So in order to get rid of enlarged pores, you would have to attempt to restore the elasticity that the skin has lost along the way. One of the best ways to do this is to tone your skin on a daily basis. This will make the pores return to their natural and normal size. If possible, use a natural astringent that is also alcohol free for this purpose. Alcohol will tend to darken your skin over time and will make it look unattractive as well. Some of the natural astringents you can use are cucumber juice and camphor lotion.

Dry skin whiteheads are also similar in nature to blackheads. In order to get rid of them, you will have to employ similar tactics as you would for blackheads. Your best bet is to get your skin exfoliated with a scrub that is formulated for dry skin. It is preferable to use one that is hypoallergenic and organic, as there is a lesser chance of you causing any harm to your skin with these. You can also make one at home using a pasty mixture of cooking oil and crystallized sugar. The oil will also nourish your skin deeply. This can be used by rubbing it in gentle circular motions with your fingertips on your face. You can apply a little extra pressure when scrubbing out the areas where the whiteheads are more rampant. It is best to do this during a bath, because the skin is moist and the skin pores are open while bathing. This will lend to better and more effective removal of whiteheads. Try to do this at least about once a week for effective and long lasting results.
