The problem of loose skin is generally associated with advancing age, as the skin loses its elastin and collagen, required to keep the skin firm and supple. As you grow older the body starts producing lesser elastin and collagen. As a result these tissues that hold together the skin, providing it a certain level of elasticity and allowing it to stretch and contract, become less effective and the skin gets a flabby appearance. The best way to lose weight without any after effects of loose skin is by balancing a regular routine of exercise with a proper diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables which supply the skin with the essential vitamins to keep it supple. Remember that water is extremely important to keep the skin firm and supple so try to drink plenty of water or coconut water to naturally hydrate your skin.
Apart from these basic measures to prevent sagging skin, you should also exercise regularly to tone your skin. Exercising using weights to tone the muscles of your arms can help to build muscles and tighten the sagging skin. You can do the bending elbows exercise, holding the dumbbell alternately in the right and left hand with 12 to 15 repetitions on each side. You can gradually increase from 2 sets of repetitions to 4 sets. Another efficient exercise for toning the muscles of the arm is by sitting on the floor with the knees bent and feet facing the floor and then gradually pushing yourself up using your hands placed flat on the floor into an arc position. For the face, you can apply a number of face packs which help to tighten the skin. A mask prepared by whisking egg whites can be applied on the face and allowed to dry before it is washed off using lukewarm water. This is said to be excellent for firming the skin. You can also prepare another face pack by mixing together lemon juice, honey, yogurt and Vitamin E oil. Finally a regular massage using coconut oil or castor oil is recommended for keeping the skin supple, thus preventing loose, sagging skin.
