You should take good care of your hair if you want to have a healthy and luxurious mane of hair. Your hair is a natural extension of your skin and body, so it naturally reflects the state of your body. If you do not nourish your body with essential nutrients and consume plenty of junk food, fried and greasy food that is high on sugar and starch content, but does not contain enough vitamins, proteins and other essential minerals, it will reflect in your hair. The best way to improve dull, lifeless and weak hair is to maintain a healthy and well balanced diet along with consumption of water and fresh juices. Drinking plenty of water and fresh juices helps to flush out harmful toxins from your system. Apart from this a regular hair care routine is crucial to strengthen the hair and make it strong. You should keep your hair clean by washing it regularly but remember that washing the hair too often can strip it off its natural moisture content, leaving it dry and brittle. Ideally you should wash your hair after two to three days or when it gets dirty, using a mild herbal based shampoo. As far as possible you should avoid using harsh hair products with a high chemical content which can eventually damage the hair. Before you wash your hair you should massage the scalp using some warm coconut oil. This is important since it improves the blood circulation in the scalp which helps to provide nourishment to the hair and also strengthens the hair follicles.

In addition to this, you can consume the juice of Indian gooseberry daily as a hair tonic. Oil prepared by boiling dried pieces of the fruit in some coconut oil is also beneficial for improving hair texture and encouraging hair growth. Alternately you can soak dried pieces of the fruit in water and apply the water onto the scalp with your fingertips around an hour before you wash your hair. Apart from shampooing your hair, you should also condition it regularly. A good conditioner not only nourishes the hair but also helps to seal the moisture in the hair, leaving it soft and silky. An excellent deep natural conditioner for the hair is mayonnaise. You can simply apply some mayonnaise on the hair, covering the strands completely, and cover the hair with a shower cap for around 30 minutes before you wash your hair. The mayonnaise soaks into the hair nourishing it with proteins so that when you wash it off, it leaves your hair soft and shiny. Apart from mayonnaise, a hair mask prepared by whisking an egg can also be applied on the hair around half an hour before you wash it. These hair masks nourish the hair, encouraging hair growth and also help to improve the overall quality of your hair.
