Drinking lot of water and keeping skin moisturized prevents wrinkle growth

I am 60. I work out a lot, not overweight, take vitamins, natural hormones and have a healthy diet. I'm obsessed with the wrinkles on my upper arms. Can I treat this?

It is great that you have kept yourself healthy and active - at the age of 60, many people are too frail to work out, and rather than staying healthy, their focus is on managing their illnesses. The fact that you are physically and mentally fit is something you should be proud of; even the fact that these wrinkles bother you can be seen as a good sign, that you are concerned about your body. Unfortunately, wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process. If you take care of your skin and are generally in good health, your skin will stay relatively soft and smooth. However, it is impossible to completely prevent the development of wrinkles, or to completely get rid of them once they appear. By the age of 60, it is only natural to have wrinkled skin. The face and hands are usually the parts of the body that are most affected by wrinkles, but the rest of the body does not remain unchanged.

It is however possible to protect your skin to some extent, and at least slow down the development of wrinkles. Since you already have a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and take vitamin supplements, you have already covered a lot of ground. However, it is not clear what you mean by natural hormones - if you are taking supplements, I hope this is after consultation with a good doctor.

In addition to this, some skin care measures are necessary. Wrinkles are a natural part of aging, but there are factors that can hasten their development, and it is important to protect your skin from these factors. Sunlight is a major cause of skin damage and wrinkles, and is partly the reason why the face and hands get so much more wrinkled than the rest of the body. You should therefore minimize your exposure to sunlight, and use sunscreen whenever you go outdoors during the day. Dehydration and dry skin also contribute to wrinkles - you should therefore ensure that you drink plenty of water, and also consider whether you need to use a moisturizer regularly. Moisturizers are most effective if they are used on damp skin - the best time to apply moisturizer is just after you have bathed. Finally, you seem too health conscious to have such a pointless and harmful habit, but if you smoke you need to stop immediately. Smoking causes immense damage to the skin, apart from all the other damage it causes.
