Use lesser amount of conditioner and shampoo hair more often to avoid stickiness in hair

For the last two weeks my hair has been sticky. I do not use any product except shampoo and conditioner. I am 32 and never had this problem. Please help.

It is probably only the weather that has caused this problem. You must certainly have noticed that your hair looks and feels a lot different in the summer than it does in the winter. Factors such as humidity levels have a considerable impact on your hair. If the humidity levels in your area have increased in the last two weeks, this could be the reason why your hair has accumulated oil and become sticky. Try using lesser amounts of conditioner or even no conditioner at all. Some people can do fine without conditioners, and find that conditioners only make their hair limp and greasy. If this does not improve your hair enough, you could try shampooing your hair more often. After a couple of weeks, try returning to your normal routine; if your hair turns greasy again, you will need to switch back to your new routine.

It is also possible that you need to change your brand of shampoo and conditioner. Over time, hair sometimes "gets used to" a certain shampoo and conditioner, and as a result, the products may not work as well as they used to. This is why many people change their hair products every few months. Try using a different brand for the same hair type - "dry hair", for example, and see if there is any improvement. If this does not help, you may need to simply start using a different type of shampoo - switch from a normal shampoo to a dry hair shampoo, for example.

Remember that your hair gradually changes as you grow older. Most people assume that after the change that occurs during adolescence, hair remains the same for the rest of one's life. However, the fact is that hair can change substantially. Some people with straight hair suddenly realize that their hair has turned curly at the age of 30. Similarly, the amount of sebum produced can also change, which will affect how oily your hair is. It is not clear exactly what causes these changes - to some extent, it is probably a natural process, but factors such as diet and lifestyle may have an impact. In any case, pinpointing the exact reason why your hair has become oily is probably an impossible task. You can try to think whether any recent change in your diet and other habits could have caused this change in your hair, but most probably you will simply need to deal with it using the measures described earlier.
