Dark skin and oily skin are two completely different problems, and the first one is in fact not really a problem at all. Your skin color does not really matter much - it is only a matter of perception, which to a large extent depends on your cultural environment, but also on you. You need to get rid of this idea that fair is beautiful and dark is not. There is a lot that goes into making a person attractive, including facial features, body structure, and personality. Even as far as the skin itself is concerned, it is more important that you have smooth, clear, and glowing skin. If you don't, your skin will not look beautiful no matter how fair it is.

Your skin care regimen should take care of these issues and also address the problem of oiliness. First of all, you need to wash your skin regularly; however, remember to avoid using soap too often. In many cases, excessive use of soap is what exacerbates the oiliness. Washing your face with soap several times a day might seem to be a good way to get rid of the excess oil. However, what it really does is temporarily dry your skin, thus prompting your skin to produce still more oil. Instead, wash your skin with plain water, and use a cleanser a few times a day. Ensure that the cleanser you use is pH balanced, and preferably get one that is also a mild moisturizer. This is because a cleanser can also dry your skin, although not as badly as soap - however, a cleanser that contains a moisturizing element compensates for this drying effect.

In addition to this, you should try regularly exfoliating your skin. Exfoliation is the process of removing the topmost layer of dead skin cells, thus allowing new, healthy skin to come to the surface. There are a number of commercially available face scrubs and face masks available. If you choose to use one of these, simply ensure that it suits your skin type and that it does not use micro beads, which are made of plastic and are extremely harmful to the environment. Alternatively, you can use a home made face scrub such as oatmeal soaked in milk or sugar mixed with honey and lemon juice.

With regard to your diet, you simply need to ensure that it is healthy and balanced - eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoid consuming too much of junk food or fatty foods.
