At your age acne, is quite a commonly faced condition that occurs; however, as you have already experienced, it can leave you with scarring if you are not careful with your skin at this time. Skin darkening or hyperpigmentation can be caused by acne as well but that deduction is only valid if it is happening in the same area as your acne. Whatever be the causes and reasons, you don't really have to worry too much because these are curable conditions and in time you should be absolutely fine if you start taking proper care of your skin.

Acne is the condition that is caused by sebaceous gland hyperactivity, which causes so much sebum to be produced that it clogs the pores of the skin and causes bacterial growth. This then leads to infections, in response to this; white blood cells accumulate in the region forming a pustule more commonly known as a pimple. When these pimples finally go away, the disruption that is caused to your skin ends up being a scar. This can be very prominent in severe cases of acne, where scarring leaves craters and ridges like those seen in a cut mark. This requires the attention of a dermatologist because antibiotics are required to be administered to reduce the effect this. Scars don't go away easily except with the help of laser treatment. Therefore if the scars you are experiencing are too visually prominent, then you can consider this as an option but this needs to be done as soon as possible.

Hyperpigmentation is caused due to an excess of melanin in the skin. This is a condition that most people in the tropics are prone to. There is a possibility that your condition of hyperpigmentation is caused by sunburn especially on the nose and forehead. The cure for hyperpigmentation is to bleach your skin of melanin. This can be done with any face whitening cream. Using these over a period of a few weeks can show results. In addition to this, you need to add more vitamin E and water to your diet. Water is needed for your body to rid itself of toxins that develop in the skin. Additional acne and whitening treatment that should be practiced is exfoliating your skin with lemon juice and sugar washes. You should also try a milk massage on your face which also has an exfoliating effect.
