Dark and oily skin remedies Though skin type is genetic, you can use simple home remedies to improve the quality and complexion of your skin. If you have an oily skin, the first thing you should do is try to keep it clean, regularly washing away the oils secreted through the open pores. Cleanse your skin atleast twice a day with glycerine based soap or with an astringent based cleanser-toner. This will degrease your skin as well as rid your skin of any toxins that might have been excreted along with the oil, thus reducing the possibilities of an outbreak of acne. If you do not like using too many chemicals on your skin, simply splash your face with cold water several times a day, blotting it dry. Never wipe your skin aggressively. You should also avoid moisturisers since your skin already has enough oil. When choosing a sunscreen lotion, which is a must, look for a product that is noncomedogenic and will not plug up pores increasing the chances of acne.
Another way to treat oily skin and improve your complexion is by regularly applying a face mask made with fuller's earth (fuller's earth) with rose water for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off with cold water. You could also make a face scrub with ground almonds and honey. Gently massage this into your skin for a few minutes before washing it off with cold water. Another excellent scrub can be made with oatmeal and Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera pulp/juice can also be applied in its natural form on oily and acne prone regions since it absorbs the excess oil and cleans the pores, leaving it fresh and clean. Above oil, remember to drink plenty of water since that cleanses your system naturally and gives your skin a naturally clean and radiant appearance.
