Bleached and colored hair cures Colouring your hair is an excellent way to change your look radically and it gives you a brand-new chic look. However it is important to remember to take care of your hair after it has been coloured. The exposure to the chemicals in hair colour, make your hair susceptible to dryness, coarseness, brittleness, split ends and dandruff. Since hair colours have a tendency to dry hair, it is important to use shampoos and conditioners meant specifically for coloured hair since they have added moisturisers that moisturise and smooth your hair. You can ask for hair salon for recommendations. Another option for moisturising your hair is going in for hair masks, available to most salons these days. Prepared using natural products, fruits and herbs these masks are applied in your hair and left for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the effects of the mask to reach the hair follicles, before rinsing it off.
Coloured hair should also be protected from the sun, not only to avoid excessive drying but also to ensure the colour lasts longer. To prevent the suns rays from harming your hair, use conditioners that have sunscreen incorporated in them or wrap a scarf around your hair if you are going to be out in the sun for very long. Since coloured hair is also more brittle and prone to breaking, use a wide-toothed comb, instead of a brush, particularly after washing your hair. Also avoid using a hair dryer, allowing your hair to dry naturally instead, so that your hair does not become excessively dry. Finally do not wash your hair too often if you want the colour to last longer – washing your hair thrice a week is sufficient to keep it clean.
