It's not normal for women to have excessive dark and dense hair on their face, but then it's not uncommon either. There are many women who suffer from the problem of unwanted hair on their faces, usually on areas like the cheeks, the upper lip, and the chin. This is usually because of a hormonal imbalance between the estrogens and androgens. These hormonal changes can take place because of puberty, pregnancy, menopause, irregular periods, stress, or because of a certain medication. There are many ways to get rid of the facial hair, like shaving, threading, waxing, bleaching, and laser treatments. However, all these methods will not solve the underlying problem, which is why it may be necessary to consult a doctor. A small amount of facial hair is somewhat normal and can simply be removed using simple hair removal treatments, but for thick hair, you will need to address the underlying cause.
Each hair removal technique has its own shortcomings of course, and you will have to figure out yourself what works for you. Shaving leaves you with a stubble as the hair grows back, threading and waxing can be painful, bleaching may not suit sensitive skin, and laser treatment is a long drawn and expensive process. Some solutions can also be found in some simple home remedies, but these too are only temporary. One effective remedy that will get rid of the hair and at the same time improve the skin texture is using a mix of gram flour, turmeric, and water as a scrub. Apply the mix and let it dry. Then rub it off gently with your finger tips. This will get rid of the excessive facial hair without making it a painful process. Lemon has natural bleaching agents, and is used to remove facial hair in several combinations. You can make a face pack of lemon, sugar, and water, and apply this in the direction of the hair growth. Keep it on for 15 minutes before washing it off with water. Follow this procedure twice a week to see results in a few weeks.
A good face peel can also be made by blending the white of one egg, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and half a tablespoon of corn. Make a sticky paste of these ingredients and apply it to your face. Gently peel it off after it has dried. Follow this regime at least 3-4 times a week, and you will see a noticeable reduction in your facial hair.
