Dry and dull hair remedies A change in climate or diet can affect your hair. Unless your hair is extremely oil, avoid washing it daily and instead wash it every alternate day. Make sure that you use products that are suited to your hair type. You can also use a leave-in conditioner to prevent your hair from drying out completely in a couple of hours. Leave-in conditioners help to seal in moisture and help to keep your hair silky and smooth. Avoid using products that contain silicon oil too often as they can make your hair dry and coarse. Oil your hair regularly and try to steam it at least once a month. Steam allows the oil to enter the hair follicle more easily and thus increases the benefits of oiling.
Try to use a natural conditioner at least once a week to ensure that your hair is well nourished. Use a hair mask made out of a mashed banana, an egg yolk, tomato juice and honey. Leave this mask in for at least 45 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm or cold water. Make sure that you do not try to wash it off with warm/hot water or the egg in your hair will start to cook! Never wash your hair with hot water as it will strip your hair of its natural oils.
