Hair loss is one of the biggest concerns amongst most people all over the world today. Evidence of that can be seen in the amount of commercially available hair care products promising to help you retain your head of hair. A miracle cure to baldness has long been sought and the amount of money invested into it by cosmetic conglomerates is substantial, yet no miracle cure has been found. The truth, though, is that taking care of your hair from the beginning will always be more successful than any quick fix solution you can find. There are a number of reasons why a person will start to experience hair loss. Most often the root cause is hereditary and has been passed down from previous generations. However, this does not rule out other possible causes like a reaction to certain kinds of medication, smoking, bad nutrition and stress and worry amongst many others.
Much like other hair problems such as premature graying, a lot has to do with how well the hair is cared for and nourished. Stress and worry can put the cells in the scalp under an intense amount of pressure which will then lead to them suffocating the root of the hair follicle and depriving it of its required minerals and vitamins along with its coloring agent - melanin.
There are a number of home remedies that would work in arresting the excess loss of hair as well as promoting stronger roots and a healthier color. Try a few of these for improved hair strength:
- Avoid using electronic appliances such as blow dryers and curling ions as they tend to damage the hair causing an increased amount of hair loss.
- Indian gooseberry is very famous for its hair maintenance and repair qualities. Try boiling a few pieces of the fruit in coconut oil. Apply this to your hair at regular intervals during the course of the week.
- You could also create a mixture using equal parts of Indian gooseberry juice and lime juice, and apply this like a shampoo during a bath. This not only prevents hair loss but will also promote hair growth.
- Massaging coconut milk into the scalp and hair roots is known to be beneficial in the treatment of hair loss.
- If the baldness is patchy, using a piece of onion, rub the bald spot until it turns red. Once done, rub the same area with a little bit of honey.
