Excessively oily skin can be quite an irritation from a number of perspectives. The fact that oily skin attracts a higher amount of dirt or dust particles causes the skin to look very dull, dirty as well as prone to many other problems. One such problem is the appearance of pimples on portions of the skin. Besides the fact that they look rather ugly, pimples tend to be rather painful as well, even more so if they are infected. It is important to understand the role that oily skin plays in the formation of pimples. Oily skin, as mentioned before, has a greater capacity to attract and hold on to dust particles that float around in the air. Sometimes, these dust particles will lodge themselves in an open pore of the skin. The pores would normally be the primary route used for the transportation of the natural oils, called Sebum, to be transferred from the sebaceous glands where they are produced, to the upper layers of the skin. If the dust particle causes a blockage, the sebum will continue to build up and start to resemble a growing pimple on the person's skin. The sebum that starts to build may also react with the usually inactive bacteria that lives on the skin and may become infected.
A normal human reaction would be to proactively burst the pimple; however, this is the direct cause of the pimple pit marks that you see on your face. While it is hard to resist, it is important to avoid scratching the pimples as it could lead to permanent scarring. Reducing the oil content of your skin will help considerably in making sure that the likelihood of pimple growth is minimized. Try massaging your face regularly with wheat germ oil and leave it on for about an hour before you wash it off with some tepid water. You could also try exfoliating your skin on a regular basis with the help of some rice powder and corn flour. In order to get rid of the scars left behind by the pimples, you could create a sandalwood paste, add some rose water and apply it on the scars. Keep this face pack throughout the night before washing it off with some cold water in the morning. You could also try slicing a tomato in half and rubbing it on the skin. Leave the paste on for about fifteen minutes and wash it off with water.
