Natural Treatment for Eczema

Eczema is an inflammation of the skin characterized by redness, itchiness, swelling, dry skin, flaking skin and blistering. To avoid irritating the skin make sure you do not use any strong soaps, cleansers, or moisturizers on the affected area. It is however important to keep the area well moisturized. To ensure that this happens you could try pure aloe vera gel to soothe the condition, instead. You could try cleaning your skin with a mild solution of tea tree oil and water or margosa oil and water. These have proven antifungal and antiseptic properties.

Sometimes eczema results from an allergic reaction to atmospheric pollutants or due to certain food items. Make sure your home and other surroundings are dust-free. If you have a pet make sure that nothing related to it is exacerbating the condition. Certain foods like dairy products, coffee, eggs, or nuts can lead to an adverse skin reaction. Consult a trained medical practitioner or dermatologist to check the source of the inflammation so you can tackle it most effectively.

Another treatment that is recommended is light therapy. Certain kinds of eczema seem to respond well to controlled exposure to certain types of UVB and UVA rays.
