Pimples are a rather common complaint from teenagers and young adults. Apart from being slightly painful, they can completely ruin a person's appearance. The fact is though, that there is not much you can do to avoid pimples or acne from developing on your face. While it is possible to reduce the likelihood of the condition, there is no guarantee that you will not be affected. Pimples and the possible resulting pimple marks can be caused by a number of factors. The most common ones are irregular eating habits, consumption of improper food including an excessive intake of starches, sugar and fatty foods. A lack of water in the body can also lead to clogged pores in the skin, which in turn will lead to the development of pimples. The development of a pimple will always begin with a clogged pore on the skin. The blockage can be caused by a number of factors including dirt and dust particles in the polluted air, excessively oily skin or even dead skin cells providing the barrier and causing the blockage in the pore. Once the pore is blocked, the sebum, which is natural oil produced by the body and transported to the proper layer of the skin through the pore, starts to build up. The individual will notice a gradual increase in the size of the pimple. The common human reaction to the growth of a pimple is to burst it prematurely. However, for two main reasons, this is not the best idea. The first reason is that bursting the pimple prematurely could leave behind a permanent scar. Secondly, if the blocking agent contains some kind of bacteria, the blocked sebum could react with that and become infected, in which case if the pimple is burst; the infection could spread to a larger area of the skin. There are a few natural remedies and skin care tips you could use to minimize any damage that the pimples or acne could cause.
- Create a mixture of one tablespoon of lime juice and another of groundnut oil and apply it over the infected pimple.
- Create a thick paste by mixing fine oatmeal and natural yogurt and apply it to the affected area and wait until it dries. Once that happens, wash the paste off with lukewarm water and pat until it is dry.
- You could also create a paste using honey and cinnamon powder and apply the paste to the affected areas, leave it on over the course of the night and wash it off the next morning.
