In today's world, having a perfect body seems to be somewhere on the list of priorities for almost every individual. People are seeing required changes where things were taken to be natural occurrences before. One of these issues is body hair. While excessive and prominent body and facial hair has always been a grave issue for women, in recent years men have also started to face some levels of emotional or mental distress because of it. Whatever may be the case, whatever may be the reason or sex, there are only a few ways that can lead to removal of the excess hair. However, we must first understand what causes the prominence of these hairs. Both, men and women, have almost the same amount of hair that covers their bodies. However, while the men have dark pigmented and very prominent hair structure and appearance, women have very light colored and small hairs spread across the body which do not appear to even be there until closer examination. The reason that the hair on men is a bit darker is largely due to a hormone called androgens, which contain some amount of testosterone. For reasons like heredity, an illness of poly cystic ovary syndrome or Cushing's disease can all lead to a woman having an unnatural balance of these male hormones, which will cause the hair to turn dark, thick and prominent. A woman having unnatural prominent body hair can face a lot of issues in today's society hence the desire to have it permanently removed is quite understandable.
The new ages of science have introduced laser hair removal as a very successful option. However given the fact that it is rather expensive is its main disadvantage. Also, if you have dark skin, the treatment may not be very effective as the laser is programmed to identify the hair by its dark pigmentation. If your skin is dark as well, the laser might get confused and do some damage to the upper layers of your skin. For permanent hair removal, electrolysis is still the most trusted option. Today, you can buy portable electrolysis kits and perform the procedure on your own. The method calls for a small amount of electricity being passed through the hair follicle, thereby killing it and resulting in the hair falling out after a few days. Since it completely removes the follicle from its root, electrolysis is a rather permanent option. Other treatments include waxing, shaving, tweezing or even the use of hair removal creams, all of which are temporary.
