We are all conscious of our body and beauty, and stretch marks can be quite bothersome as a result of this. This skin problem is a common occurrence in many people especially when there is a sudden increase in weight, such as putting on weight during pregnancy, or sudden growth during adolescence. It can also be due to genetics and hormones, medication, and eating junk food. But you need not fret as there are many stretch mark remedy.

We tend to add weight more in the abdomen area, thighs, and upper arms. There are however, many home remedies for stretch mark treatment that are available to help get us back into our fit and trim bodies. To remove stretch marks and underarm pit marks begin with good skin care regimen by drinking plenty of water to hydrate your body and also help your skin become soft and supple. The more your body is hydrated, the easier it is to get back to your original shape.

You can rub lavender oil on the marks every day. Massage the oil in circular movements, so that it can be absorbed and help in removing the marks. You can apply almond oil, olive oil, or flaxseed oil to reduce and fade stretch mark. Mix a small amount of base oil such as almond, jojoba, or avocado oil, half a teaspoon of chamomile and lavender oil each, and apply on stretch marks. This is effective in removing stretch marks. You may also apply aloe vera gel or a vitamin E ointment to reduce the marks.

You can prepare your own cream by blending half a cup of olive oil, a quarter cup of aloe vera gel, the liquid from 6-8 capsules of vitamin E, and 4-6 drops of vitamin A. Store this cream in the refrigerator and apply it every day to see your stretch marks diminish.

You can use an apricot scrub to reduce the stretch marks. Creams with a rich base of vitamin C and K are effective in removing stretch marks.

Following a healthy diet also helps in keeping stretch marks at bay. Eating good amounts of vegetables, fruits, and nuts will keep your weight under control and reduce the incidence of stretch marks. Eat green vegetables and fruits such as carrots, cabbage, papaya, oranges, and apples, as they are rich in antioxidants. Eat foods rich in vitamin C and E, protein, and zinc like fish, eggs, almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, and dairy products. Nuts are helpful in replenishing your skin, and make it smooth and glowing. Exercise to tone your muscles and keep stretch marks at bay.
