Get rid of excess oil on skin using homemade face masks

I am 25 years old and my skin is oily. I do not actually know which massage cream should I use during summer and winter season. Please advise me.

Oily skin tends to become thick and dull colored. Oily skin is prone to blemishes, coarse pores and pimples. Blackheads are more common in oily skin. In this skin type, sebaceous glands produce more oil than needed. The oil oozes and gives skin a greasy shine. Pores can get enlarged and give an uneven look.

The causes for oily skin could be improper skin care, heredity, diet, hormones, pregnancy, birth control pills, cosmetics, and the weather. However, the advantage of oily skin is that it ages at a slower rate than other skin types. Oily skin needs extra care with cleansing with hot water and soap to prevent clogging of the pores. You need to avoid harsh products which can strip of all the oil in the skin. It can get dehydrated and become flaky.

Keep your skin very clean, but limit washing your face to two or three times a day. Washing too much may stimulate more oil production. Try to use antibacterial cleansing lotion or lightly medicated soap. You can try mild soap with a herbal base. Try not use products with alcohol as they dry the skin. After washing, use an oil free moisturizer to keep your skin supple.

You can always use skin care tips and homemade face masks that are excellent for oily skin. You can mix calamine powder and sandalwood powder. They are effective to reduce oiliness from the skin. You can add other ingredient to suit your skin like a few drops of essential oils or just simple lemon and cucumber juice to make a face pack. You can add rose water to sandal wood powder and apply it on the face and wash off when it dries.

You can prepare a face mask with gram flour, lemon juice, and yogurt. As you rub the mixture on your face, it will work as a scrub to remove dead cells and tone your skin. You can squeeze one lemon into a teaspoon of honey and apply it on the skin. This will clear the skin and open the clogged pores.

You can try tomato, cucumber, and lemon juice. Add a little calamine powder or gram flour. Make a paste and apply it on the skin. This will add glow to your skin.

You can try steaming your face by adding margosa or basil leaves as they are antiseptic and purify the skin. Washing your face with rose water will refresh your face.

During summer these remedies can tried more often than in winter, as the humidity is higher. In winter your skin will tend to become more dry than usual, you can try these remedies once a week to cleanse and rejuvenate your skin. Eat less oily foods; include vegetables and fruit in your diet. Drink plenty of water to keep your body and skin hydrated and flush toxins from the body. Do not overdo anything, just be cheerful and watch your face glow.
