No, there are no true henna products that have no color. Henna by its very nature leaves your hair with a reddish orange tinge. Henna contains a natural dye known as lawsone, which has an affinity for protein. It is due to this that henna stains the hair, as well as the skin, fingernails, and toenails, as well as other protein based substances such as leather. Lawsone always leaves a reddish orange stain, and this color may be noticeable to varying degrees, depending upon your original hair color. If you have deep black hair, your hair may only get a mild reddish tinge, which may not even be visible most of the time, and in most light. If your hair is lighter, the henna color will be a lot more noticeable. White hair is most affected by henna, and may sometimes become rather bright orange. Usually, if the henna is warm, or if mild heat is applied through a hair dryer or some other appliance during the application of henna, a darker color can be obtained. It will still have a reddish tinge however.

Some products in the market are sold as "neutral henna", but this is not real henna. The same is true of the other colors that are available, such as black henna and blue henna. These variations are either a mixture of henna and with other substances, or they may not be henna at all. Some of these substances have dangerous chemicals that are added to modify the dyeing effect of henna. These henna mixtures are therefore to be strictly avoided. Since you want to avoid changing your hair color at all, you should in fact avoid all henna products. There are other ways to strengthen your hair without affecting its color.

As far as substances that are applied on hair go, coconut oil is probably the best for strengthening hair. Other oils such as almond oil and olive oil can also be used, but studies have shown that coconut oil penetrates the hair better than any other oil. It also seems to offer the most protection against protein loss and other damage. Besides this, the best way to strengthen your hair is to eat a healthy, balanced diet. If your hair is properly nourished, it will be strong, and yet soft and silky. It is of course also important to avoid the use of unnecessary products and treatments - hair gel, mousse, relaxers, and hair irons should be avoided.
