Smooth, silky hair is much coveted as it makes one look gorgeous and stunning. The secret to making your rough hair straight and silky is ensuring that it is well nourished and healthy. Hair that is looked after with care looks amazing as it is healthy.

Harsh shampoos tend to strip the hair of its natural oil, thus damaging it and making it rough. Choosing mild products is essential as it influences the quality of your hair. Most people resort to using hair straightening products, blow drying their hair and ironing hair to straighten out their rough strands. These remedies provide temporary results but cause long term damage to the hair. The sun's harmful rays also cause severe damage to the hair leaving it dull and lifeless. Hence, keeping your hair covered when outdoors is recommended. Split-ends and broken strands also give the hair a rough appearance. Combing hair when it is wet, especially with a narrow-tooth comb, further increases the damage as the hair is most vulnerable at this point.

Head massages are highly recommended to improve the overall texture of the hair as they improve blood circulation in the scalp and increase the flow of natural oil to the hair follicles. After an oil massage, keeping the head covered with a hot, moist towel, for half an hour, is recommended as it ensures the deep penetration of the oil and makes the hair healthy. Massaging your hair with warm almond oil and then applying honey and leaving it on for an hour before washing it off, will nourish the hair making it smooth and straight. Olive oil and coconut oil also play their part in straightening rough hair. A concoction of avocado pulp and coconut milk or coconut milk and a few drops of lemon juice, when applied to the hair, make hair soft and straight. Rinsing your hair with cold water makes the hair shine and reduces the chances of hair fall, breakage and split-ends. Chamomile is also known to make hair easy to manage by reducing tangles and split-ends. Rinsing the hair with apple cider vinegar will leave hair shining, soft and straight. After washing your hair, dry it gently with a towel and apply a small amount of hair serum to the shafts. Then using a wide-tooth comb to detangle hair when it is slightly damp is recommended. This will ensure that the hair remains strong, smooth and glossy.
