Hair straightening can be done at home, and is a relatively simple procedure, provided you tend to your hair attentively and take proper hair care. If you are strongly inclined to keep the ironing machine at bay to straighten your hair, you can best opt for blow drying, and simultaneously follow some basic, easy practices. Please note that when blow drying, keep the dryer a bit away from your hair.

To straighten your hair without using an iron, wash your hair thoroughly, follow up with deep conditioning, and then wash again. Dry all the water from your hair with a towel, taking care not to squeeze too hard. Then use a wide-toothed comb or a hair brush with wide bristles, and detangle your hair properly. Take some straightening cream in your palms and apply it to your hair evenly without leaving any area out. Divide your hair into three parts and pay equal attention to all the parts. Pull two parts of hair together and pin them up. Then, take your hair brush and hair dryer and gently move the dryer from the roots to the tip of your hair, and keep stretching your hair to straighten it well. Work on all three parts of hair separately. Divide them into smaller parts and use the blow dryer on them evenly. As you use the dryer, keep it away from the hair and glide down from the top. Before you switch off the blow dryer, turn it on the cool mode and then stop. After that, take some hair spray and gently apply it on your hair with a comb.

In addition to these hair tips, you need to take care of a few more things to maintain straight hair for a longer period. Avoid tying plaits or a bun as much as possible. Tying up hair like that can make your hair wavy or worse still, curly. The straight texture that you built up will be lost. Also, keep brushing your hair regularly throughout the day. Let your hair loose and avoid tying your hair in any way especially just after washing it. Every time you wash your hair, make sure that you also use a good hair conditioner, and deep condition it once a week. It is essential for styling hair as well as for keeping it healthy. If possible, don't use this method too frequently, as blow dryers and chemicals in the straightening cream make the hair dry and brittle.
