Prevent lip darkening by exfoliating the lip using tooth brush and massaging the lips with a good lip balm

How to get the pink lips? I have dark lips not extreme. Will daily use of lipstick cause any damage to the lips?

There are many possible reasons of having dark lips. If you have had dark lips from birth, then the darkened lips are completely natural. However, there are various other reasons that could possibly be the reason for the darkening of lips of fair to wheatish complexioned people. Some of the possible reasons for the darkening of lips are exposure to sun, excessive tea or coffee drinking, using lipstick or other lip products of dubious brands, smoking and other minor reasons like allergies. Pink is often the color of the lips that people are born with and over the course of time, it is normal that the skin of the lips, just all skin, will mature and change color over time.

There are multiple remedies to reduce the darkening of your lips. To start with, you need to exfoliate your lips. You could do this with your toothbrush to exfoliate the dead skins off your lips. However, you should take care to do this gently so as not to hurt the lips. After exfoliating your lips, always apply a coat of lip balm to moisturize and soften it. You could use petroleum jelly for this purpose. You should adopt a regular massage regime for your lips. Remember to massage your lips gently with a good lip balm every night. During the day, it is advisable to use a lip balm with an SPF factor 15. If you follow this routine without fail every day, you can definitely see the difference in a few weeks time.

Using a lipstick all the time can cause some serious damage to your lips. You should always use good quality and brand of cosmetics; in this case, lipsticks to ensure that the chemicals do not damage your lips. In case you notice that your lips are becoming darker by the day, then you need to discontinue the use of a specific brand of lipsticks or lip balms and consult a dermatologist immediately to undo the damage done. Apart from all this, you should also ensure that you maintain a healthy diet. Have lots of fruits and vegetables and also consume less of caffeine daily. In addition, you should quit smoking totally, if you are a smoker and if you really do not want your lips to become dark. If you take care of all these aspects, you will end up having a healthy shade of color in the lips.
