Your hair sounds like a particularly tough challenge, but one that can be overcome quite easily nevertheless. All it will take is a certain amount of dedicated disciplined effort to take care of it. The first thing to do is to cut your hair short. This will instantly give it a brand new life by taking away the split ends and stray hair. Get the help of a qualified hair dresser and find a suitable hair style which will look good with your face and hair. Try to keep the length of your hair to the length of your chin. This is usually the first, very helpful step, in maintaining healthy hair.

Make it a point to condition your hair daily. It is a myth that washing your hair everyday spoils or damages it. There are plenty of mild shampoos available that can be used on a daily basis. Find one for dry and damaged hair and use that. Using conditioner will also help to remove the tangles considerably. You must also make it a point to apply oil to your hair and scalp at least thrice a week, since your hair seems to be the kind that needs the nourishment. Leave oil on overnight and wash it off the next morning for best results. Any regular hair oil will work well with your hair type. In the morning, before washing it off, make it a point to rub lime juice into your hair and leave in for about 10 minutes. This will help to remove the dandruff. Another remedy for dandruff is to add a few drops of tea tree oil to your regular shampoo. This will also help to maintain a clean scalp.

Since you find combing your hair a tough job, you should start tackling that problem as well. Short hair is relatively easier to comb and can be controlled quite easily too. Comb your hair when it is wet, and always use a wide tooth comb to remove tangles first. After that, switch to a wooden hair brush. Spend time brushing your hair. The more you brush, the smoother your hair will start becoming. But remember that this effect can only be achieved with a wooden brush. Plastic combs and brushes cause too much dryness and static and will only worsen the state and condition of your hair, so you must stay away from them. Work on these guidelines for a month and you will see positive changes.
